Marriage Services at the Islamic Center

If you would like to be married at the Islamic Center or have the Imam officiate your wedding ceremony, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Contact the Imam
Reach out to the Imam by phone or email to schedule your wedding.

Advance notice is required, so please plan accordingly.

Step 2: Premarital Counseling (Optional but Recommended)
Premarital counseling is available to help you prepare for this important stage in your life.

Step 3: Obtain a Marriage License
You must obtain a marriage license from the Circuit Court Clerk of any court in Virginia (you do not need to be a resident of that locality).

You will receive a large envelope with official documents. Do not fill out or alter any part of the marriage license—only the Imam is authorized to do so. Altering the license will invalidate it.

Bring the following to the Imam:

The entire envelope of documents.

Government-issued ID for both the bride and groom (e.g., driver’s license, passport).
