Answer: No good deeds will be accepted from one who does not pray – no zakah, no fasting, no Hajj or anything else.
Al-Bukhari (520) narrated that Buraydah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever does not pray ‘Asr, his good deeds will be annulled.”
Answer: Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin was asked in Fatawa al-Siyam (p. 87) about the ruling on the fasting of one who does not pray.
He replied:
“The fast of one who does not pray is not valid and is not accepted, because the one who does not pray is a disbeliever and an apostate . Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“But if they repent [by rejecting Shirk (polytheism) and accept Islamic Monotheism], perform As-Salah (Iqamat-as-Salah) and give Zakah, then they are your brethren in religion.” [al-Tawbah 9:11]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Between a man and shirk and disbelief stands his giving up prayer.” (Narrated by Muslim, 82) And he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The covenant that separates us from them is prayer; whoever gives up prayer is a disbeliever.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2621; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Tirmidhi)
Answer: The Imam, the one who is praying on his own and the one who is praying behind an Imam come under the same ruling with regard to doing extra Rak`ahs. If any of them adds a Rak`ah deliberately, knowing that it is additional, his prayer is invalidated; but hardly anyone does that.
But if the addition to the prayer was by mistake, then either the worshipper (whether he is an Imam, praying behind an Imam or praying on his own) realizes that it is something additional during the extra Rak`ah, in which case he must sit back down immediately, otherwise his prayer will become invalid, because he deliberately added something to the prayer. He must also recite the Tashahhud if he did not do so previously, and prostrate twice (the two prostrations of forgetfulness) after the Salam.
Answer: Muslim narrated in his Sahih (2003) that Ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is prohibited. Whoever drinks Khamr in this world and dies when he is addicted to it and has not repented, will not drink it in the Hereafter.”
Marijuana is an intoxicating substance , as explained above, and what it is and what it causes is well-known and well-established, thus it is undoubtedly Khamr and is subject to the same rulings as Khamr in this world and the hereafter.
It does not matter if something only causes intoxication when consumed in large amounts, but small amounts do not cause intoxication, because the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whatever causes intoxication in large amounts, a small amount of it is prohibited.” (Narrated by An-Nasa’i, 5607 and others; classed as authentic by Al-Albani)
If a person does Ghusl after having a wet dream or intercourse , then something comes out of him after that, unaccompanied by feelings of desire, he does not have to do Ghusl again.
Ibn Qudamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
If a person has a wet dream or has intercourse, and ejaculates, then he does Ghusl, then some semen comes out of him, the well-known view narrated from Ahmad is that he does not have to do Ghusl again. Al-Khallal said: there are many reports from Abu `Abdullah – i.e., Imam Ahmad – that say that all he has to do is Wudu, whether he urinated or not, and this is the view that he settled on. This was also narrated from `Ali, Ibn `Abbas, `Ata’, Az-Zuhri, Malik, Al-Layth, Ath-Thawri and Ishaq. Sa`id ibn Jubayr said: He does not have to do Ghusl unless that was accompanied by feelings of desire.
Answer: There are two kinds of ghusl from janaabah – sufficient and complete.
Sufficient ghusl means that you rinse your mouth and nose, then you wash your entire body with water, even if that means plunging yourself into deep water in one go. Complete ghusl means washing your private parts and anywhere else that is contaminated with traces of impurity, then you do full wudu, then you pour water over your head three times, making sure that it reaches the roots of the hair. Then you wash the right side of the body then the left side.
Answer: Putting on perfume and going out with the aim of letting non-mahram men smell it. This is haram, and is a major sin.
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If a woman puts on perfume and passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, then she is such and such,” and he spoke sternly – meaning an adulteress. (Narrated by Abu Dawud (4173) and al-Tirmidhi (2786); classed as sahih by Ibn Daqiq al-’Eid in al-Iqtirah (126) and by Shaykh al-Albani in Sahih al-Tirmidhi)
Answer: Scenarios of missing prayers
He missed it for a reason, such as falling asleep or forgetting it. There is no sin on him in this case, but he has to make it up when he wakes up or remembers it.
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever forgets a prayer, let him offer it as soon as he remembers, for there is no expiation for it other than that.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari (572) and Muslim (684) Muslim narrated an additional phrase: “or sleeps and misses it”.
Muslim also narrated (684):
“If one of you sleeps and misses a prayer, or forgets it, let him offer the prayer when he remembers, for Allah says ‘and perform As-Salah (Iqamat-as-Salah) for My remembrance’ [Ta-Ha 20:14].”
Answer:
1. Seeking refuge in Allah from the Shaytan’s evil by pronouncing the words of seeking refuge and this is OK in this case.
2. Blowing with mist to the left three times. This is basically blowing air in a similar manner to spitting, but with a minute mist of saliva, on the condition that this does not disturb or bother the person next to him, nor make the masjid dirty.
Answer: The blessing of time is one of the greatest blessings that Allaah can bestow upon His slaves. Allaah even swears by time in some cases, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“By Al‑‘Asr (the time)”
[al-‘Asr 103:1]
– because of the importance and blessing of time.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Make the most of five things before five others: life before death, health before sickness, free time before becoming busy, youth before old age, and wealth before poverty.” See Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 1077.
But most people are unaware of the importance of this blessing and are neglectful of their duties towards it, namely to fill it with acts of gratitude and obedience towards Allaah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are two blessings which many people do not make the most of and thus lose out: good health and free time.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6412.
Muslim should not have any free time, for he should be going from one act of worship and obedience to another. If he cannot spend all his time going from one act of obedience and worship to another then, he may spend some of his time in permissible pursuits, in which he should ensure that his intention is correct, so that he may earn reward thereby, as Mu’aadh (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “I get up and I sleep, and I hope for the same when I sleep as I hope for when I get up.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6923; Muslim, 1854.
Answe: There is no disagreement among the physicians and sane people that smoking is harmful for health. It is one of the major causes of lung cancer and other diseases. It is also one of the major causes of death. Since, it is known that the Islamic law prohibits everything that is harmful for a human being.
Allah said (interpretation of meaning):
{Do not kill yourself. Allah is Merciful unto you.} [An-Nisa’ 4:29]
In addition, His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“There is no harm or causing of harm (in Islam).”
He (peace and blessings be upon him) also said:
“A person will not be able to move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about … his body as to what he engaged it in.”
answer: Tattooing , in which the skin is pierced with a needle and a blue or other coloured dye is injected, is haraam in all forms, whether it causes pain or not. This is because it involves changing the creation of Allah, and because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the one who does tattoos and the one for whom that is done.
‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “May Allah curse the women who do tattoos and those for whom tattoos are done, those who pluck their eyebrows and those who file their teeth for the purpose of beautification and alter the creation of Allah.” (Al-Bukhari, al-Libas, 5587; Muslim, al-Libas, 5538)
